Differences Between Post and Page in WordPress

When newly installing WordPress and go to the dashboard, you'll notice there are two places where you can create content: Post and Page.

Post and Page has a similar shape but different functions.

Now we will see any difference.

Post

Post in WordPress is used if you want to publish content on your website routine. For example, if you publish an article every day, once a week, or twice a week, then this should be made in the form of a post.

This is because all your posts will be displayed in a page sequentially. Post most recently appeared on top of the old.

Post also be divided by categories and tags.

For example if you have a website about pets and you have an article about cats, dogs, and birds. These articles can be put into a category that is more easily searchable by visitors.

Lastly, your post will be put into an RSS feed.

RSS (Rich Site Summary) is a page that lists the post on your website. RSS feed is typically used by people who want to subscribe and receive the latest content from your website.

Page

Page is used to create pages that are fixed.

The pages in the form page is not sorted by date. The sequence can be as you want to give a number to each page.

Page is not included in the archive pages and RSS as post.

Page can not put into categories and tags.

Instead, you can create a sub-page. For example page named Europe could be made sub page called england, germany, spain. etc.

Sample pages are most often made is a page about you, or your website and contact page.

Is there any difference for SEO?

It's a question that often arises when discussing about the page and post. Do search engines such as Google considers post and page that is different? Which is superior?

The answer is: not very influential.

Both are the same in the search engines.

The purpose we use post and page are for the convenience and comfort of visitors. Not for search engines.

But there is one consideration:
Posts containing the date of publication. For some keywords need contents that are fresh, post which was never updated for years could rank will go down.

Again, it is only for keywords that need fresh content.
