Everything described in this guide.

The reason why Google Keyword Planner alone is not enough

If you've read this introductory chapter, you must remember that there are three fatal mistake in keyword research.

Google Keyword Planner is the cause of the fault to third.

errors are hereditary done and taught.

Namely, using keywords that are too similar.

Like this:

See the resemblance above all keywords

Believe it or not, this can cause your website penalty.

Look.

Google Keyword Planner it is not a tool for keyword research, but for users of Google AdWords (Google PPC advertising services).

The results released are not diverse.

If you just rely on Google Keyword Planner, the content that you create will not be varied.

Because that is not a good tool to search for keywords.

Please do the steps below to do a search keyword in the right way.

Method for Finding the Right Keyword

1. Get some initial ideas of the main keyword

You now only have one keyword that category / industry your own website. For example websites that sell airline tickets approx keywordnya "sell tickets".

This one is not enough.

If you enter a keyword is in tools like Google Keyword Planner, then you make mistakes like above.

Therefore, this is what we do:

Think of some keywords related to the main keyword earlier, and then separate them by search intent.

(Read the previous chapter if you do not understand search intent)

For example, websites that sell airline tickets:

In the example, I was just looking for a less than 10 keywords each intent. In practice later, you should be looking for much more than this.

The more the better.

Note especially the "informational". These keywords instead of air ticket (main keyword), but the relationship is still very close.

When someone visits your website through keywords informational, they may not be directly purchased.

but the next time they need, they will come to you.

Therefore, useful informational keyword to find a buyer in the long term.

Low-value but very helpful.

If you are confused in finding the idea, try to answer the following questions:

Informational:

  • What problems target your market?
  • What they are interested in buying your products / services?
  • What issues are resolved through your product / service?
  • What other things they want to know in addition to your product?

Commercial investigation:

  • What they consider before making your choices?
  • What information they are looking for before buying? (Spec, benefits, price)
  • How do they compare to similar products? (Best, vs, review)
  • Are there adjectives that describe your product / service? (Cost, quality, blue, red)

transactional:
  • Imagine you want to buy your products online, what will you find on Google?
  • Do you provide discounts, free, and the like?

In the drawing, these tables, there are keywords that are not complete sentences (eg: the best tourist destinations in). Now we will explore the full version in a second step.

2. Find additional keywords in ubersuggest.io

You sure you've never seen anything like this:

It's called Google AutoComplete.

Google will automatically complete the keyword that you write when performing a search.

This is what we use to find keywords.

The problem is, if you look for the one that is very long ... we have to write a "tourist spot in the" from A to Z.

Fortunately there ubersuggest.io

ubersuggest.io is a tool that serves to get the keywords derived from primary keyword that you enter by Google Suggest.

This tool automatically searches over and over again for you.

It's easy.

enter keywords into the field provided:

Do not forget to set the country.

Then press the "Suggest" button.

The result is like this:

343 keywords in the blink of one keyword!

Next, click the "View as text". Copy Then paste in Notepad, Excel, or others, up to you.

Repeat for all keywords earlier.

Lastly, combine all of the keywords in the same intent to the same notepad.

3. Get the search volume on Google Keyword Planner

Furthermore, with the provision of ubersuggest.io keywords, we headed to the Google Keyword Planner, please create a new account if you used the first time.

After that, click on the second option from the menu.

Paste keywords that you have copied earlier. Do not forget to change the country and language.

Paste keyword from ubersuggest.io to Google Keyword Planner

Click the "Get search volume".

You will be shown the volume of searches per month for each keyword.

After that, the download in Excel format CSV or save to Google Drive if you use Google Sheets.

After all the keywords entered, you should have three files spreadsheets for each intent.

Save this file third, for the next chapter.

Other tools for keyword research

At this point the fact-finding stage of keywords we're done, but there are some tools that may need to know to facilitate the research process.

The following tools will facilitate the process of your keyword research.

1. SEMRush - peek keywords from other websites

Keyword search stage is actually not difficult.

But many people are deadlocked stage 1 (thinking of derivative keywords). The reason is, because they do not know what keywords to use.

In addition, many also wrong / incorrect.

Here SEMRush can help you.

By using SEMRush, you can "peek" high-value keywords from your competitor websites.

Your rivals painstakingly researched it. We, live voyeur.

It is very easy:

Enter the website address of your competitor.

Then scroll down:

In order keyword more complete, click "View full report".

Look on the far left.

This is the keywords that we can use.

In one click we are able to get so many thousands of high-value keywords.

There is more.

From the previous page, we can see the websites of our other rivals:

>>>>>

This data is very helpful.

If we analyze this website address again in SEMRush, then we will get more and more high-value keywords.

Thus, the process of your keyword research so much easier.

2. Long Tail Pro - looking for valuable keywords hidden

I briefly explain first about the long tail keywords:

long tail keywords that are long keyword competition level is much lower than the short tail keywords. (More details will be explained in chapter 4)

So what?

For a new website, we can not directly go to page 1 if we target keywords with high competition. It took many months.

Therefore we need a long tail keywords.

By targeting long tail keywords, we can quickly get to the page 1 although no backlinks at all.

because competition is low.

After a lot that goes into the first page and get a lot of visitors, then Google will consider us a trusted website.

Furthermore, we can get ranked for keywords that are more difficult.

That's the strategy that I use on the blog PanduanIM.

To search for long tail keywords that have high search volume and low competition, we need a Long Tail Pro is so much easier.

Like this:

Then, click one of the keywords to see the competition:

It turned out that the competition is small, (top right).

That is why I make so targeting these keywords.

Everything starts from a long tail keywords.

DOWNLOAD THE LONG TAIL PRO

3. Term Explorer: analysis of many keywords at once

Its basic function is similar to the Long Tail Pro is looking for keywords and analyze competition.

The difference:

Term Explorer web-based, while the Long Tail Pro is a desktop software. Long Tail Pro is paid once in a lifetime, Term Explorer per month.

Because of its similar, I will not explain again.

This screenshot keyword list obtained from the Term Explorer:

Because web-based, Term Explorer nicer to your slow internet connection. Its servers they are doing analysis, not your computer.

SIGN UP TO TERMEXPLORER

4. MozBar or SEOQuake: for who prefer manual

Two of this tool is a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox.

Both free and its almost the same features.

MozBar and SEOQuake will display data such as the number of backlinks, Page Authority, Domain Authority, and others when we do a search on Google.

It can be used to find keywords that are good ...

but not automatic, because you have to search one by one in Google.

Before we get into the next chapter of keyword competition analysis, it helps you install one of MozBar and SEOQuake. Even better if use SEMRush, Long Tail Pro, or the Term Explorer.
