Toolbar
The picture above is the toolbar that contains buttons to format your posts. From here you can make your writing so bold, italic, underline, and others.
Press the button in the far right to open the second line.
There is a button which is quite important in the toolbar:
This is the "Insert Read More tag".
When using this button, there will be a boundary line that appears in your post. The writings that are above the boundary line will be demonstrated on the archive page.
On that page you will see a few posts that contain only an introduction and accompanied by a link to read the rest.
That is the function Read More tag.
Post format
This section serves to change the shape of your post. For example, if your post only contains videos, use of video format. If only contains a picture, select the image.
Not all themes have this feature.
Categories and Tags
Categories and Tags serves to classify your posts into certain topics.
Both of these features will be explained further in another chapter.
Featured Image
Featured image is the main image of your post. It usually appears at the top of the post.
You do not always have to use the featured image, but there is a WordPress theme that require using this feature.
Visual and Text
There are two versions of the editor in WordPress: Visual and Text.
In the Visual Editor, if you press the Bold button from the toolbar, the text will appear in bold. If you insert a picture, it will be shown directly in the editor.
While in the Text editor is not the case.
In the Text editor, we use HTML code. So, you will not see the text in bold, it will appear the <strong> surrounding the text. If you insert an image, it will display the tag <img>.
If you do not understand what is HTML, use only the Visual editor. Text Editor is only used for things that are more level.
Post more than one page
This feature is somewhat hidden in WordPress, not in the toolbar.Sometimes we want to separate a post to more than one page. For example if your article is too long or if you need more than one chapter.
Click the Text editor, then the part that you want to break up. write a tag like this:
<! - Nextpage ->
Publish
Save Draft button is used if you want to save your post without publishing. Preview button is used to see what the results without publishing.
